  • Eldrbarry's Group Games

  • An Index of Group Games. I am unable to reply to your 4/26 e-mail. It keeps coming back undeliverable. I appreciate your offer to exchange links, and will probably add a link to your pages on my resources page. However, you don't seem to have an appropriate category for the kinds of group games which I have on any of your pages. Your Play Groups section has Board Games and Role Playing. The Other Games page you referred to has the sub-categories: Card Games Dice Games and Hand Games. Your Party Games Page has some better sub-categories. To which of these do you think my site is appropriate? The kind of games I am dealing with are played by groups of people (children and older) in youth groups, scout meetings, at schools, camps, church groups, outdoors in parks, etc. Equipment is mostly makeshift - often just an open area and imagination, and someone to lead them. Your pages seem to lack that whole dimension of "play" - tending to be focused more on gaming "things" than people; commercial equipment rather than imagination and a spirit of fun. I would urge you to think about this and add appropriate the appropriate categories. By the way, I also have a page of Storytelling Games: http://www.eldrbarry.net/roos/books/stgam.htm which includes a number of commercial card and board games using "story telling" as a part of playing them.
